EGO generally gives way to complete negative feelings like adamancy, fight, superiority, inferiority, suppression, dissociation, idealisation, inversion, splitting etc… which would result in sorrow, confusion, depression, enmity, hatred, breaking relationship etc... on the whole - a complete negativity.

The ego does perform important processes such as impulse control, cognitive functioning and self defense among others. Without it general functioning would be near impossible.
